Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God (2 Cor. – ). As Paul says in Rom “Don’t let this world press you into its mold” (v. 2, paraphrased). Gen. iii. Here the conflict between holiness and sin was first waged.
